Features of Field Master Multi-Season Tracks
Let’s delve into some of the key features of FieldMaster Multi-Season tracks that make them one of the most sought-after rubber tracks for combine harvester operations:
- SpoolRite Belting, Non-Overlapping Continuous Belt System
FieldMaster tracks are designed using McLaren’s proprietary SpoolRite Belting technology. This continuous, non-overlapping, joint-less steel belt system ensures that there are no weak points along the track belt by providing equal tension throughout the belt. The enhanced tensile strength of the belt eliminates stretching, extending the service life of the tracks.
- Extra Wide Forgings (EWF) System
Track tensile strength is further boosted by another McLaren patented technology - the Extra Wide Forgings (EWF) system. This system provides an extra wide steel belting system which gives enhanced reinforcement to the tracks as well as added stability, especially on slopes or hilly applications. The wider footprint reduces ground pressure which make these tracks great to work on sensitive surfaces, like fine soil, that require minimal ground disturbance.
- Secure Rubber to Metal Bonding
These tracks feature a strong, secure bond between the rubber and the forged links. This bonding minimizes corrosion that occurs when the track is exposed to wet environments. The probability of link ejection is greatly reduced due to the secure bond even when operating under heavy loads and extreme job site conditions.
- Rebuildable Forging Material
The forgings used for strengthening the tracks are highly-durable and wear-resistant. If, for some reason, the forging needs to be rebuilt or repaired due to some wear, the forging material can be welded using a hardfacing welding wire. Hardfacing, also known as hardsurfacing, involves applying wear-resistant metal to the surface of the forging material through welding. This means that you do not have to replace the entire track system should the forgings experience some wear, which saves you money.
- Extra Large Diameter Cables
FieldMaster tracks are constructed with extra large diameter cables. This gives the tracks up to twice the tensile strength of regular rubber tracks. Track breakage is minimized, even under intense shock loads.
- High-Quality Rubber Compound
FieldMaster rubber tracks are made from a high-quality rubber compound that make them tough and resilient in a wide range of work site conditions. These premium rubber compounds are used on both the rolling areas and tread of the track.
McLaren uses HRAT (High-Performance Rolling Area Track) compound which adds flexibility to the rubber. It also makes the rubber cracking averse and tear resistant. This HRAT compound is combined with McLaren’s cut and tear resistant 5-RT compound, which makes the rubber resilient to UV rays. This is a crucial feature as direct exposure to UV rays can cause cracking and expedite track degradation.
- Range of Sizes and Tread Lug Patterns
These tracks come in a range of sizes and tread patterns which you can select from depending on the particular needs of your harvesting operation. Below are the sizes available for FieldMaster rubber tracks:
- 280 x 79
- 400 x 90
- 450 x 90
- 500 x 90
- 550 x 90
