McLaren Solid Backhoe Tires

McLaren Solid Backhoe Tires

Notable backhoe manufacturers include CAT, Case, Ford, Hitachi, JCB, Komatsu, Kubota, John Deere and New Holland.

Compared to other heavy equipment on the market, backhoes are compact in size which makes them great for work sites that are too small to accommodate larger equipment.

It is important to equip your backhoe with the right tires, to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency on job sites. McLaren’s Nu-Air® solid backhoe tires are flat-proof and are specially designed using McLaren’s Semi-Pneumatic Technology™. They offer the durability and stability of a conventional solid tire while also providing the cushioned comfort of a pneumatic tire.

McLaren offers a range of backhoe tires with varying tread design patterns to match a large range of terrains. Some work best for off-road applications while others perform optimally in on-road applications.

Below are the four main types of Nu-Air® backhoe tires offered by McLaren:

Nu-Air® Dirt Terrain (DT) OTR Tires

Nu-Air® DT tires are best-suited for off-road applications including sand, dirt, ground, and snow. They also perform optimally in quarry and mining fields. DT tires for backhoes offer superior traction and stability.

Nu-Air® DT tires come in the following sizes:

  • 10-16.5
  • 12-16.5
  • 12-20.0
  • 13-24.0
  • 14-20.0
  • 14-24.0
  • 15-20.0
  • 17.5-25
  • 23.5-25

Nu-Air® All Terrain (AT) OTR Tires

Although Nu-Air® AT tires can be used for both on-road and off-road applications, they are especially well-suited for work on hard, abrasive surfaces like cement, asphalt, and concrete. On these kinds of surfaces, the AT tires provide a smoother ride and experience less wear than DT backhoe tires. Off-road, AT tires provide exceptional traction. Nu-Air® AT tires is particularly useful in operations where the landscape changes during the course of the operation. This is because the tires do not need to be switched out mid-operation as they are specially engineered to perform on all types of terrains.

Nu-Air® AT tires has a wider footprint design than DT tires which reduces ground pressure and extends the service life of the tires.

Nu-Air® AT tires are manufactured in the following sizes:

  • 10-16.5
  • 12-16.5
  • 12-20.0
  • 13-24
  • 14-24
  • 17.5-25
  • 20.5-25
  • 23.5-25

Nu-Air® Rocky Terrain (RT) Tires

Nu-Air® Rocky Terrain tires, as the name implies, are designed to navigate rocky terrains but also work well on other terrains. They are the most aggressive, heaviest duty backhoe tires offered by McLaren and perform optimally in demanding job sites like scrap yards and recycling stations.

Sizes Available:

  • 14-24

Nu-Air® Super Slick (SS) Tires

For hard surfaces like asphalt and concrete, equip your backhoe with McLaren’s Nu-Air® SS tires. These tires feature a smooth, tread-less surface that makes them ideal for flat, hard surfaces. Footprint wear is minimized on these types of surfaces when you use SS tires. Nu-Air® SS tires are a cheaper option than the other backhoe tires offered by McLaren.

They are available in the following sizes:

  • 12-20.0
  • 14-24.0
  • 17.-25
  • 20.5-25
  • 23.5-25

Features and Advantages of McLaren’s Backhoe Tires

  • 100% Flat-Proof

Nu-Air® tires are 100% flat proof. This translates to zero machine downtime due to flats which result in higher productivity.

  • Heavy Duty Rubber

All Nu-Air® tires are made from highly durable, premium quality rubber. The advanced rubber compounds used in manufacturing Nu-Air® tires are tear and puncture resistant. McLaren’s backhoe tires have three layers of tough rubber compounds for added strength. This extends their work life expectancy by 3-5 times more than that of the average pneumatic tire.

  • Press-on Rims for Easy Installation

Nu-Air® tires for backhoes come with press-on rims for quick and easy installation. Simply mount the tires on to your backhoe and it is ready to go.

  • Deep Tread Lugs

McLaren’s backhoe tires feature extra deep tread lugs that enhance traction in applications like deep mud, sand, and snow. The deep tread surface also gives added grip and stability on slopes and hilly applications. These deep tread lugs have an added benefit of being able to self-clean as you navigate demanding work sites.

  • Multiple Sidewall Apertures

Nu-Air® tires feature three layers of sidewall apertures that serve as shock absorbers as you navigate tricky terrains. This cushioning effect makes for a comfortable and stable ride for the backhoe operator. The sidewall holes also reduce machine vibration and noise, protecting the backhoe’s undercarriage components from mechanical wear.
